We offers SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005 as an optional extra to all it's plans. Microsoft SQL Server is used as a high-end database solution. It is an alternative to the lower-end Access, Foxpro, Dbase or even MySQL databases. SQL Server is an extremely fast and reliable database server.

How do I manage my Microsoft SQL server database?

To use SQL Server 2000 it is preferable to either have Enterprise Manager or Visual Studio to manage the SQL server database, however, we do provide ASP.NET Enterprise Manager, which is an online version of Enterprise Manager for your use.

To manage SQL Server 2005 you need Microsoft Management Studio, or again you will need to use the provided ASP.NET Enterprise Manager.

Plan 2 ($180): 1 Database - 50MB Disk space, Logs - 25MB Disk space

How do I upsize from Access to Microsoft SQL?

If you currently use Access and are looking to upgrade to Microsoft SQL then the following may help.

To upsize your Access database to a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database there is a tool you can download to help. The tool is provided by Microsoft and is called 'SQL Server Migration Assistant for Access (SSMA Access)'. For details and to download the tool please click here.

To move from an Access database to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 please read this article. Note that due to data type restrictions there is a process you should follow to ensure that no data is lost and that your Access database is compatible with SQL Server 2000.
